Rosie Huntington

RosieQueen Latifah was born Dana Elaine Owens on March 18th, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey. Latifah is the second child of Lance Owens and Rita Owens is well-known for her political activism and acting skills as well as her ability to rhyme. At the age of eight her cousin from Islam named her Latifah which means "delicate" as well as "sensitive" in Arabic. Latifah started singing in the choir at Shiloh Baptist Church in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and made her debut public appearance when she sang a rendition of "Home" as one of the two Dorothys in a stage production of The Wizard of Oz at St. Anne's parochial school. Latifah's mom was a major influencer. She was connected to the students as well as the music. She invited Mark James, a local disc jockey who is known as D.J. Mark the 45 King, was invited to perform at a dance school.
