Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom, Surrey, the daughter of Josephine, a laboratory technician and John Ormond, a stockbroker. She is the fifth of five children born to her parents. Her first performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted the attention of many. She later attended Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After a single year of art school , she was moved to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which she attended until 1988, when she graduated. Ormond first came to prominence on British television in the 1989 serial Traffik. The show focused on the illegal heroin trade, from the far East to Europe. Ormond played the heroin addict daughter of the main character she was a Home Office minister who was engaged in the fight against heroin importation. The first role he played earned rave reviews.
